SETFest2016 (Tehran, Iran)is now accepting project proposals for its annual event, scheduled for summer 2016. The festival is interested in Audio/visual performances, sound art, lectures and workshops dealing with utilization of new technology in performance. The theme for this year´s events is “New Interactions”; may it be interactions between devices, artist/audience interactions or using technology to find new interactions between mediums. Call for applications: Independent studio and study programme at MASS Alexandria

Dedicated to contemporary artistic practices, research and production, MASS Alexandria is back with a new edition of its independent studio and study programme.

Artists and practitioners from all backgrounds and disciplines are invited to apply, including architects, film makers and artists who work with sound.

The upcoming programme aims to encourage emerging artists to create research-based works, to explore local and global visual cultures, and to examine the influence of African diasporas on contemporary cultural production.

A complete application includes: a one-page letter of motivation in Arabic or English presenting the applicants experiences, research interests and expectations, 10-20 work samples (selected images, texts, sound and video files), and a short documentation of these work samples (title, place and date of production, medium).

We expect students to pay a fee of 350,- Euros or 3.500 Egyptian Pounds as a contribution to the production of the end of year exhibition. This tuition may be reduced or lifted, if a student shows an exceptional talent and motivation but cannot afford to pay this amount.
